Carson
Kemp Memorial Fund
May 14, 1990 – April 29, 2007
In
the Spring of 2007, the San Diego Youth Symphony family lost violinist
Carson Kemp. She was a vibrant and social sixteen year-old who
shared her beautiful smile with everyone. Carson displayed her
musical talents as a member of Symphony Orchestra and the Philharmonia.
Carson was also the Concertmaster of the University City High
School Orchestra, excelled academically and loved sports. In addition
to all of her achievements, Carson will best be remembered for
her beauty, grace and her ability to spread joy.
In
Carson 's memory, her mother has established the "Carson Kemp
Memorial Fund" to provide annual scholarship support to a student
in the Youth Symphony who demonstrates Carson 's leadership skills
and shares in Carson 's love of music, academics and sports.

Jim Bunnell Memorial Gifts
November 2, 1957 – November 29, 2007
All
of us at San Diego Youth Symphony and Conservatory mourn the passing
of Jim Bunnell. Jim was a Lt. Commander in the US Navy with 27
years of service as a photo officer in the Combat Camera Command.
Jim and his wife Julie have made music an important part of their
children's lives. All five, Keren, Kimberly, Corrie, Cara, and
Ross, are string players enrolled in the SDYS orchestra programs
and perform regularly as a chamber ensemble. The Bunnell family
asks that donations in Jim's memory be designated for scholarships
at SDYS.
