SMALL
ENSEMBLES
Various
small string, wind, brass and percussion ensembles are offered
by SDYS on an annual basis. These ensembles focus on development
of musical and technical skills in a small ensemble environment,
while introducing students to important works of music unique
to the chamber ensemble genre. SDYS faculty members provide
regular instruction for these ensembles. Students rehearse
according to various annual schedules, determined according
to the individual ensemble needs and groups perform both
annual public recitals and outreach events when appropriate.
